The Merrimack Valley JV boys’ soccer team (12-3-1) finished its regular season with a 4-0 win against Kennett. Griffin Wheeler picked up a hat trick for the Pride, while Bailey Gabour and Travis Wheeler kept a clean sheet and Chase Schnipke put in a strong performance.
The Hopkinton JV boys’ soccer team ended its season with a 4-1 win against Stevens. The Hawks (8-6-2) got strong performances from Sam Brown (goal), Andrew Beckwith (goal), Ian Heck (goal), Logan Rockwood (goal, assist), Steven Newton-Delgado (assist), Ryan Graham (midfield) and Ron Finlayson (defense).
Zack Anderson had two goals and an assist to lead the Bow Middle School boys’ soccer team to a 3-1 playoff win against South Meadow. Matt Lamy added two assists for Bow, Noah Leuchtenberger and Calen Smith were strong in the midfield, and Patrick Wachsmuth provided smothering defense.
The Rundlett A girls’ soccer team came from behind to claim a 4-2 quarterfinal playoff win against Londonderry. Mia Hand and Juliana Pardo played outstanding in net for Rundlett. Ty Harrington scored twice for the Dukes while Juliana Pardo and Kelsey Mayer added single goals.
The Rundlett A volleyball team lost in the playoff prelims to Pennichuck, 25-17, 25-17. Elizabeth Blinn served well and contributed with digs, blocks and kills. The Dukes also got solid contributions from Peyton Trento, Ava Harmon, Izabelle Thurston, Katie Martel, Grace MacDonald and Ashlyn Clougherty.
The Hopkinton Middle School boys’ soccer team won a first-round playoff game against Cawley in penalty kicks, 2-1. Garrett Fitzgerald and Payton Marshal scored the PKs for the Hawks.
Sujan Bhujel scored two goals and Garrett Miskoe added another as the Rundlett A boys’ soccer team beat Londonderry, 3-1, in a Tri-County quarterfinal matchup. Keeper Max Lahey anchored a Rundlett defense that also got big contributions from Salvatore Aubin, Owen Currier, Nader Watcher, Max Grant and Nick Dibueno.

NHTI basketball clinic hosted by Paul Hogan, the NHTI Athletic Director and men’s basketball coach, will take place Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at NHTI. The clinic is open to youth, middle school and high school coaches and will cover topics like post player development, conditioning, defensive training/tactics and offensive schemes. The instructors will be Jen Fithian of NHTI, Rich Fazzi of Newbury College, Andrew Novick of Plymouth State University, Nick Whitmore of New Hampton School, Ryan Cain of Keene State College and Hogan. A second grade pre-season basketball league run by Concord High School basketball coaches Dave Chase and Tim LaTorra will lead volunteer coaches through skills and drills. The league will focus on fundamentals of basketball while also introducing team play. The program runs on Saturdays from Nov. 4 through Dec. 16.
