On Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m., three agencies that work to help provide for families and children in crisis will be sharing how volunteers can help them help people in need at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Hall, 180 Loudon Road. Bethany Christian Services will be presenting Safe Families for Children, highlighting ways you can help by sharing time and love. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will share with you ways in which you can advocate for abused or neglected children in order to provide children with a safe and healthy environment in permanent homes. DCYF (Division of Children, Youth and Family Services) will share with you how you can become a licensed foster/adoptive home. Some facts to consider: There are currently more than 1,400 children in foster care in N.H. That number is up 200 from one month ago and is double from only four years ago. We say goodbye to another Concord landmark. On Sunday at 2 p.m., there will be the closing Mass at St. Peter Church, 135 N. State St. Bishop Peter Libasci will be the principal celebrant. St. Peter’s was home to the Vincentian Fathers, Christa McAuliffe, the homeless and maybe you and your family. Always sad to lose a “member of a family!”
