The Concord Cannons U16 Prospects team recently competed in the Blue Chip National tournament in Diamond Nation N.J., finishing 13th out of 68 teams, losing only one game. Gilford’s Isaac Wallace and Adrian Siravo and New Hampton’s Alex Rives picked up wins on the mound, while Pittsfield’s Devin Bedell, Merrimack Valley’s Caleb Heath and Mount Royal’s Andrew Normandin all had big tournaments. The Cannons finished the summer with a 28-3 record.
Tim McKenna aced the 117-yard second hole at Duston’s Country Club, hitting with a 9-iron. Shot was witnessed by Laura, Caiden and Greyson McKenna.
Concord Parks & Recreation Boot Camp, 45 minutes of fast, high intensity, sweaty fun, is accepting registrations. Each class is different, using a variety of formats and equipment and will challenge your body in new ways. Classes run Wednesdays from 5-5:45 p.m. until Sept. 12, and Saturdays from 8:15-9 a.m. until Sept. 8. Instructed by Jodi Cornell.

NH Comets softball tryouts for the 2019 softball season are set. Nor’Easter Softball Club tryouts for the 2019 season will be held on Sunday at the Belmont High School softball field. Cap City Fall Basketball tryouts will be on Sunday, Tuesday (grades pre-K through sixth), Wednesday (grades 7-12), Aug. 18 and Aug. 26 at Bishop Brady High School for boys and girls of all abilities between pre-kindergarten and 12th grade. Seacoast United Cubs Baseball Club will be hosting its final tryout for 2018/19 teams on Aug. 20 at the SUSC Concord Indoor Facility. NFL Flag Football is being offered by Concord Parks and Recreation. It is a league for boys and girls, ages 6-11. The league provides boys and girls the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football while playing in a safe environment. The league runs Sundays from Sept. 9-Oct. 21. Ages 6-8 meet from 9:30-11:30 a.m., ages 9-11 meet from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and ages 12-14 meet 1:30-3:30 p.m. Final signup deadline is Aug. 24.

FieldHouse Sports Indoor Facility fall indoor soccer leagues are accepting registrations. Leagues offered for adults are men 18-plus, men 30-plus, women 25-plus and adult coed. All abilities are welcome. Games begin the week of Aug. 27. Teams play one night a week (Monday-Thursday) for eight weeks. Twelve-week youth leagues (ages 5-18) begin the week of Oct. 29. Rundlett Middle School athletics registrations are open. Parents must sign in to their PowerSchool Parent account at ps.sau8.org, or go to sau8.org and choose Athletics. If you have not yet signed up to PowerSchool Parent, you will need the one-time Access ID and access password for each of your children, which may be obtained from Rundlett Middle School at 225-0862. Seacoast Express United is looking for soccer players for the upcoming season in the NEP League. The program needs two boys born in 2010, two boys born in 2009 and two boys born in 2008. New England Fusion U16 Gold softball is looking for a utility player to add to the team. Wanakee Wilderness 5K is on Aug. 18 at 9 a.m. at Wanakee United Methodist Center, 75 Upper New Hampton Road, Meredith. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. The 5K trail race goes through the hills and mountains with a view of Lake Pemigewasset. Registration is $25 ahead of time or $30 on race day.
