First-time blood donor senior Tyler Hazzard holds the pint of blood he just donated during the Red Cross Blood Drive at John Stark Regional High School. The Blood Drive was sponsored at the school by the Leos Club at John Stark.
Heather Angel, who has been with the Red Cross for 11 years, said the pint of blood Tyler donated is enough to save three lives.
When Tyler was asked what made him donate, he said, “It was just something I felt I should and wanted to do. I missed it last year, so I made sure I made it today.”
Community members and John Stark students and staff were among the 48 people signed up to donate blood at John Stark on Oct. 23.
