■The Merrimack County Stamp Collectors will meet at the Bow Mills United Methodist Church, 505 South St., on Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. Anyone interested in stamp collecting is welcome to attend, share their interest, buy, sell and trade, meet other collectors and learn more about this hobby. ■Bow Mills United Methodist Church is holding a Blue Christmas Service for people dealing with a death in the family, a loss or broken relationship, hardship or because of painful memories of Christmases past. This special service will take place Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. and will include candle lighting and healing prayer. Light refreshments will be offered after the service.

■The annual Bow Rotary Christmas Tree and Wreath sale ends next weekend at the town pond adjacent the Bow Community Building. All trees are from the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and are 5 to 8 foot, well-shaped Fraser and Balsam Fir trees, best known for their long-lasting qualities. The wreaths are pre-decorated Balsam Firs and again this year, our Earlyact Club and Interact Club will be selling birdseed wreaths as a fundraiser. ■The Baker Free Library Foundation’s annual fundraising campaign began Giving Tuesday, a global movement that encourages charitable giving during the holiday season. The library’s goal is to raise $10,000 through Dec. 31. All monies raised will be invested in the Baker Free Library Endowment Fund. Checks should be made payable to the BFL Foundation, with the word “endowment” noted on the memo line. Donations should be mailed to the library or dropped off at Baker Free Library, 509 South St., Bow, NH 03304. ■Visit DunbartonUCC.org to reserve your ticket for the Dunbarton Congregational Church Christmas Concert on Sunday at 4 p.m. featuring pianist Dan van Kalken. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $12 individual; $25 family; and $25 balcony (limited) for those 21 and older, which includes wine, soft beverages, and snacks served during concert.

■The last PTO meeting of 2019 will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. in the elementary school media center.

■The Town Hall Restoration Concert Series continues Friday at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. Donation is $20 or what you can afford. The featured performer is the Peabody’s Coal Train, a six-piece acoustic Americana band from the rolling hills of N.H.

■Everyone is invited to place wreaths on the graves of our Veterans in the Dunbarton Cemeteries on Saturday. A ceremony will be held on the Commons in front of Major Caleb Stark’s Statue at 10 a.m. with the N.H. Sons of the American Revolution’s Honor Guard and in front of the Library by the War Monuments. ■Need help with your holiday cooking? The Silver Birch 4-H Club is sponsoring a Cookie Walk on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DCCU Vestry on Route 13. These homemade cookies will be sold for $5 per pound, and containers will be provided. Proceeds go to a great group of kids who do so much for others! Ingredient lists will be included with each cookie selection.

■Children’s Game Swap will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the library. Swap out your child’s games, card games and puzzles for a gently-used, clean, new-to-you game or puzzle. You may drop off the board games, card games, or puzzles by Friday at 3 p.m. The library cannot guarantee every person will get a game or puzzle during the swap, but game and puzzle donations will be accepted from people not interested in obtaining one in exchange. They should have a fair selection to pick through. Anything left over after the swap will be donated to a local charity.

■The Dunbarton Public Library is not an art gallery or museum, but recently created an art space that will acquaint our patrons with the talents of Dunbarton-area artists. Currently in process of going up is James O’Brien’s Fine Art.

■At Henniker Community School on Monday at 6:30 p.m., the PTA will meet in the school library.

■On Thursday, the HCS Players present one performance of “Video Mania.” It’s the story of four kids who are sucked into a video game to save their babysitters.

■Next week, the sixth grade students begin the first part of their Artist in Residence: India with Sunanda Sahay, a painter.

■At John Stark Regional High School on Wednesday at 6 p.m., there will be a presentation on “The Dangers of Vaping” from N.H. Poison Control. Also Wednesday, at 7 p.m., the John Stark Regional School District board will meet in the school library. The default budget will be presented. On Thursday, the Winter Concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Café.

■MainStreet Warner is looking for artists to develop a distinctive painted mural that celebrates the history of Warner. N.H. artists are invited to submit a proposal for this exciting opportunity to provide a large scale work of art to be displayed prominently in the center of our village. Located in the heart of town, this permanent outdoor installation will be highly visible to locals and visitors alike for years to come. The RFP is open to all N.H. artists or artist teams with legal status to work within the United States without preference to racial or ethnic origins, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation or disability. ■Tai Chi on Tuesday will be held in the basement of N.H. Telephone Museum, 1 Depot Road.
