■The Andover Libraries are beginning to reopen by providing curbside delivery of books, audiobooks and DVDs. Patrons can check the online catalogs to see what is available (andovernhlibrary.weebly.com) and request titles by contacting the Andover Library (735-5333, andoverpl@comcast.net) or the East Andover Bachelder Library (735-5076, wablibrary@gmail.com). Staff will respond when the requested items are ready to be picked up. Books can be returned only during regular hours and both libraries request that no donations of used books be made during this time.
■Monthly Andover Community Coffeehouse will be held via Zoom on Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. Participants can join through their computer or mobile device. Featured performers are the folk/Americana guitar-and banjo duo Old Horse, plus a handful of open mic performers, all performing from their homes. ■The Boscawen Public Library is back with curbside pickup; the inside of the library remains closed. Patrons can access the library’s online catalog to view all available items by going to boscawenpubliclibrary.org. Patrons can also email boscawenpl@gmail.com or call 753-8576 to request items 24 hours in advance. A library staff member will contact you with a pickup date. Patrons should call the library once they are in the parking lot and a staff member will deliver bagged items to you in your vehicle. When returning your items, please put them in the library drop box outside of the building. Curbside pickup hours are Monday and Wednesday from 2-5 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 1-4 p.m. Any updates can be found on the library Facebook page or website. Boscawen Public Library is happy to be back assisting patrons albeit, on reduced hours.
■Boscawen’s Summer Backpack Program is being extended through the summer to all children in Boscawen in grades K-12. Bag pickup will be every Thursday during the summer through the pending school start date. Bags can be picked up at the Town Municipal Office Building, 116 North Main Street, rear door at 10 a.m. Please remain in your vehicle and open your trunk and the bag will be placed inside. ■The Canterbury Farmers Market will be open Wednesday from 4-6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Elkins Public Library. The market will be held every Wednesday (unless there are thunderstorms) until Sept. 30. There will be live music by Jordan Tyrrell-Wysocki and Matt Jenson. To address COVID-19 safety issues, the market will have a curbside pickup. Customers will be encouraged to use hand sanitizer before entering the market, numbers of customers coming in at any one time will be monitored to avoid crowding, prepared food must be taken off site to eat, customers are asked to send minimal family members and children must be kept with parents/guardians at all times. ■Canterbury United Community Church Pastor Sara Rossig has been ringing church bells every evening in recognition of essential workers, healthcare workers and those dealing with pain due to COVID-19. Those wishing to join are invited to make noise with instruments or kitchen items. This is followed by 2 minutes of silence for reflection. All are welcome either in cars or spaced on the green by the church.
