I remember a bumper sticker that I liked in the late 1970s: “If the People Lead, the Leaders Will Follow.” It appealed to me because it stressed the importance of electing politicians who listened, as well as spoke. Outstanding leaders have always kept the people they represent front and center. Not so our current governor. He has not only shown that he frequently disregards what New Hampshire citizens value, but even uses his power to silence them. Vetoes are his frequent, mighty response to our efforts, including those with bipartisan support.
Let’s elect a proven listener to lead this time. Let’s elect a governor who hears us when we ask for better schools for all children, a safer environment, affordable health care, and a living wage for everyone.
Let’s elect Dan Feltes for governor.
