EAST SIDEGrange to meet on Zoom

■Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Grace Episcopal Church, East Congregational Church, Immanuel Community Church, Concordia Lutheran Church, All Saints Anglican Church and Granite State Baptist Church are offering a variety of worship services for the Second Sunday in Epiphany. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Concord Stake will have Sacrament at 9 a.m. at the church on Clinton Street. The Canterbury Stake will meet at noon.    

■I would like to extend deepest sympathies to the family of the late Delma Reagan, who passed away recently. Delma worked at the Bank of N.H., now known as TD Bank, for many years on North Main Street. She will be missed by all who knew her.

■Deepest sympathies are extended to the family of the late Marjorie Welch, who passed away recently. Marjorie was a member of Bow and Concord Granges for over 75 years.    

■Deepest sympathies are extended to the family of the late Barbara Perry, who passed away recently. Barbara and her late husband, William, owned Perry Brother Monuments for years.  They were also honorary members of Pineconia Grange and Immanuel Community Church. She is going to be missed by all who knew her.

■The St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry (21 Centre St.) is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. COVID-19 precautions are in place. Wait in your car and food choices will be brought to you. Bring ID. For more information, visit stpaulsconcord.org.

■The Concord Public Library is offering a virtual visit of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Join in the fun by seeing online exhibitions, touring collections, watching lectures, and more, on Thursday at 9 a.m. Visit mfa.org or call 225-8670 for more information.

■Enjoy ice skating at the Everett Arena. Skating hours will be Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $6 for ages 14 and up and $5 for ages 13 and below (kids ages 3 and under are free). Skate rentals will be available in the pro shop for $5. Skate rentals and skate aide walkers (limited supply) will be thoroughly disinfected after each use upon returning to the pro shop. Public skating will be reduced to 50% capacity at this time. Masks/facial coverings will be required and screenings will be conducted. Follow signs when entering and exiting the ice during public skate since all skaters must skate in the same direction. For more information, call 228-2784.

■The Food Pantry at West Congregational Church (499 North State St.) is open on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Good wholesome food is available, as well as pet food. ■The Concord Public Library has returned to curbside services only and has a new return bin that is open 24/7. Curbside pickup of items is available by appointment only. ■Training in mindfulness is improving people’s physical and psychological health, as well as their performance and life satisfaction. This eight-part series introduces participants to the basics of “Communicating Mindfully,” a time-tested, internationally respected curriculum that infuses the study of mindfulness with the study of communication and emotional intelligence. ■Historian Simon Winchester, the author of “The Professor and the Madman and the Perfectionists,” will visit Gibson’s Bookstore on Thursday via Zoom at 7 p.m. He will explore the notion of property, our proprietary relationship with the land through human history, how it has shaped us and what it will mean for our future. He will be joined in conversation by Gibson’s own John LeDonne. ■Seeking to bring light into the darkness, Concord Chorale presents a free virtual concert, “When the Night is Furthest Worn” under the direction of Jenny Cooper on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. The concert may be accessed at concordchorale.org. The selection is of five short songs. In addition, the Chorale’s collaborative pianist, Molly Lozeau, presents a piano solo. The concert will run for about 30 minutes.
