■Anyone involved with child care on a regular basis may want to join a Zoom discussion titled “Great Childhoods” on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Joelyn Drennan, senior program director of The New Hampshire Children’s Trust, and Michelle Lennon, executive director of the Greater Tilton Area Family Resource Center will talk about the work of the 19 family resource centers across N.H. which offer parenting education, information and referrals, grandparent support groups, mentoring and other services to ensure that kids grow up in safe, nurturing environments. ■The Canterbury Democratic Committee will caucus to elect officers on March 29 at 6 p.m. The only requirement to vote at the caucus or run for an office is that you need to a Canterbury resident and registered democrat. The committee will elect a chair, vice chair, secretary, treasurer and delegate to the state convention. ■Canterbury’s three state representatives, Howard Pearl, Mike Moffett and Jose Cambrils, will conduct a virtual Legislative Listening Session on April 10 from 9-11 a.m. or for as long as citizens have questions and want to discuss any bill or issue. ■The Webster Free Public Library Book Group will meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The group will discuss Fredrik Backman’s book, “Anxious People.” Backman is also the author of the popular book, “A Man Called Ove.” The Zoom link will be posted a few days before the meeting.

■It’s time to license your dog with the town clerk. Bring a valid rabies certificate and get your license before April 30 to avoid a visit from your police department, a $25 civil forfeiture and other fees. The town clerk has moved back to Town Hall and is working her regular hours. You don’t have to license your cats because as anyone with a cat knows, a license is beneath their dignity.
■The Webster Congregational Church will hold Easter services beginning with Maundy Thursday on April 1 at 7:30 p.m. The sunrise service will be held April 4 at 6:30 a.m. at the usual Pearson Hill Road location. Masks and physical distancing will be required. The take-home breakfast will be served as a drive-thru at the church. A takeout box containing coffee or orange juice, fruit salad, and a choice of Danish, muffin or cinnamon bun will be provided. Cash donations will be collected. For those that wish to donate electronically, you can use PayPal on the church’s Facebook page. The 10 a.m. Easter Worship Service will observe the same guidelines that have been used since reopening last summer. If you have any questions, call 731-0080.
■The Webster Free Public Library will be closed on April 4 for Easter.
■The Webster Fire Department is having its annual chicken barbecue on July 24 from 4:30-6 p.m. Half a chicken with all the fixings will cost you $12 each. This event is very popular, so if you are going to attend you should pre-buy your tickets. A percentage of the profits from the meal will be donated locally.
