A New Boston nurse was arrested Thursday for allegedly breaking an assisted living resident’s fingers as she pried them off of a call bell.
Nancy Waller, a 65 year old registered nurse at Rose Meadow Farm, could face up to 22 years in prison for 4 charges: two counts of abuse of a facility patient, second degree assault, and simple assault.
The charges against Waller, brought by the N.H Attorney General’s office, allege that she prevented the resident from being evaluated by an outside medical professional.
Rose Meadow Farm cares for adults with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and neurological disorders who are unable to care for themselves, according to the facility’s website. No details about the victim of the abuse have been released.
Waller will be arraigned in the Hillsborough County Superior Court on a date to be determined.
