■Pre-COVID hours and regular programs are back at the Boscawen Public Library. The library is open on Monday from 12-7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are no longer needed and masks are no longer required. No-contact pick-up service remains available for those who prefer it. “Tails and Tales,” the Summer Reading Program, kicks off Monday. There is still time to sign-up at boscawenpubliclibrary.org. Opening day activities include an outside Story Walk starting at the gazebo. Bring in your pet pictures and they will be posted on the pet board. Come read with the librarian on Thursdays from 2-3 p.m. The Craft Group meets on Monday at 2 p.m. Preschool Story Time will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Library passes to Squam Lake Science Center, See Science Center and McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center are available for patrons for free or at a reduced cost.

■The Honey Bee Trio will be performing at the High Street Coffee House on July 10 from 4-7 p.m. Bring your chairs, umbrellas (just in case) and appetites, as there is lots of good food to purchase. Coffee houses will be held on the second Saturday of each month through September. More information about the trio visit maryfagan.com/bio.

■This is the second public notice of forfeiture for a cemetery lot. Pursuant to RSA 289:18, the Cemetery Trustees of Canterbury, New Hampshire are hereby undertaking forfeiture proceedings on the lot identified on the 1934 map of Maple Grove Cemetery, as B-7, a 10-foot by 21-foot burial lot owned by Rev. and Mrs. Josiah and Ida (Plastridge) Higgins, late of Canterbury, New Hampshire. If anyone has information concerning the above mentioned owners, or the location of their heirs, please contact the Canterbury Cemetery Trustees as soon as possible to halt the forfeiture proceedings. ■Wednesday at 11 a.m. is the Elkins Public Library Summer Kick Off Event. Watch a live broadcast of Cactus Head Puppets on the library’s Facebook page. They will perform “Magnificent Monster Circus.” Cactus Head Puppets is a touring company based in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts known for their playful performance style and exuberant creativity. The show will be recorded and available on the library’s Facebook page to watch for a week after the show.

■Canterbury Country Store & Friends of CCS to hold a Pre-Fireworks Family Fun event on July 3 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

■The Canterbury Historical Society is updating the “Welcome to Canterbury” booklet that is given out to all newcomers to Canterbury. ■The Salisbury Farmers Market is open every Monday from 3-6 p.m. throughout the summer, except for holidays. If you are interested in being a vendor at the market, please reach out to Helen Binette at 648-2156.

■The cemetery trustees will meet on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Academy Hall.

■The library trustees will meet at the library at 6:30 p.m. on July 6. All are welcome to attend. There is a Zoom option available through the library website and Facebook page.

■The Old Home Day Committee is asking residents of Salisbury to please vote for this year’s Citizen of the Year. The Old Home Day Committee is looking for nominations for an individual who has been active in town issues, who has gone above and beyond for the town of Salisbury, and served the people of Salisbury in different capacities. Please drop off your nomination in one of the boxes located at Crossroads Country Store, Academy Hall and the Salisbury Free Library. Nominations will be reviewed at the July 13 meeting. Come to Old Home Day on Aug. 7 to see who will be honored as the 2021 Salisbury Citizen of the Year. One vote per person. You must include your name, street address and who you are nominating on your note. You may vote by emailing salsiburynhohd@gmail.com no later than July 13 at 3 p.m.

■The Old Home Day Committee will meet on July 13 at 7:15 p.m. at Academy Hall.

■Salisbury Old Home Days will take place on Aug 6-8. This year’s theme is “Salisbury Through the Decades.” Pick a decade and make a float for the parade! There will be cash prizes for first-, second- and third-place winners. Email tamjham71@gmail.com or pick up an entry form at the post office bulletin board, library or Crossroads Country Store. Entries are due no later than July 27. Kids can also participate in the parade with bikes and pets. The parade will be on Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. Other Old Home Day events include: car show/cruise night at Maplewood Ballfield (Aug. 6 from 4:30-7:30 p.m.), firefighter must and antique fire truck and tractor show (Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Maplewood Ballfield), horseshoe tournament, chicken barbecue, crafts, chili cook-off, ice cream social, corn hole tournament and more. ■The town clerk is now open fully on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesdays from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Masks are recommended for all those who are not fully vaccinated. Please continue to observe social distancing. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license and all necessary documents with you. New vehicle registration and transfers need to be done in the office in person. Renewals may still be done online or through the mail. Payments may be made by cash, check (to the Town of Salisbury) or credit/debit card. Vehicle renewal registration information was mailed to those who need to renew in July. Please follow the directions in the letter enclosed and the town clerk will mail your new stickers and registration to you. Online registration for dog licensing is now live. The town clerk will not be available on July 5 in observance of Independence Day.

■The library is open to the public. Hours are Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday from 1-7 p.m., Thursday from 1-7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call or email the library (salisburyfree@gmail.com) to arrange no-contact pickup and delivery. Pickup and delivery services might not be available at all times due to staffing. Storytime is done live on Facebook on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. The library also participates in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Any child age 5 and under who has not yet started kindergarten can participate. All books read with, or to, the participating child counts. Printing, scanning and faxing services are still available at the library by appointment. Call the library to make arrangements. The library also has passes for New Hampshire State Parks.
