The Concord School District’s newly-elected Charter Commission is holding its second meeting Tuesday night, and members are encouraging Concord residents to give public input on proposals for commissioners to consider.

Superintendent Kathleen Murphy, business administrator Jack Dunn and school board president Jim Richards will all appear before the Commission at the meeting, which starts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Board Room of the School District Offices on Liberty Street. There will be a time for public comment near the beginning of the agenda, when community members can raise issues, provide background info and suggest proposals for the school district’s charter that the members can consider.

The Commission members will be examining the charter, the school district’s governing document, over the next several months and revising, removing or adding sections to it that Concord residents will then vote on, in November 2022.

At its last meeting, held Nov. 16, the Charter Commission elected officers, including chair Betty Hoadley, vice-chair Clint Cogswell and secretary Bill Glahn.

The Charter Commission has also set the dates for several future meetings to be held on Dec. 14, Jan. 18, Feb. 1 and Feb. 22, at 7:00 p.m. School regulations require masks to be worn in the building.
