■A public meeting on the proposed 2022 Town Budget will be held on Thursday after 6 p.m. It will be held at the Boscawen Elementary School. Masks are required. ■The Conservation Commission will meet at Academy Hall on Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. The public is always welcome.
■The Town Clerk will be open on Jan. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m. to accept fillings of Declarations of Candidacy for town board and committee positions only. They will be no DMV or dog licensing services on this day.
■The Salisbury Old Home Day Committee will be accepting nominations for the Citizen of The Year Award at the Annual Town meeting voting day in March 2022. The committee decided on Jan. 11 that it would hold the ballot voting for Citizen of the Year on the same day as the Annual Town Meeting. We ask that you please be sure to cast your vote for the Citizen of the Year nomination on your way out of the meeting, there will be a separate voting box and signage for this purpose. The winner will be honored at Salisbury’s Old Home Day and ride in the parade on Aug. 13. The Citizen of the Year will receive a beautiful granite clock with their name inscribed for a keepsake, as well as a write up in the town’s annual report which becomes a permanent part of town history. The person must also be a present citizen of Salisbury. The “Citizen of the Year” award will recognize an individual with these characteristics: a person who continually volunteers their time, dedication and talents to the town and the citizens to make Salisbury a great place to live. They may serve on service, school, church, or community committees. A person with the qualities of honesty and integrity. In choosing the recipient, regards will be given to the nominee’s achievements in the year immediately prior to receiving the award, as well as their past achievements and ongoing contributions to the community.
■The Board of Selectmen will meet on Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. at Academy Hall. All are welcome to attend. Please see the town’s webpage for the alternative Zoom link if you cannot make it in person.
■The Planning Board will have a Public Hearing on Monday January 24 at 6:30 pm at Academy Hall.
■The Library Trustees will hold their monthly meeting at the Library on Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m. If you would like to attend the public meeting via Zoom please contact the Library and request the Zoom option 24 hours in advance.

■The Salisbury Free Library trustees seek a friendly, outgoing individual for the position of library director. The director is responsible for all facets of library operation and developing and managing a small staff. The director reports to and works closely with a Trustee Board, which meets monthly. At least three years of professional experience in a public library, with supervisory experience preferred bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. MLS students are highly encouraged to apply. Needs to have familiarity with tech support, collection development and Microsoft Windows. The Salisbury Free Library is open: Monday’s (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Tuesday’s and Thursday’s (1 to 7 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). The director works on average 20 hours a week. ■The Friends of Forgotten Children food pantry has opened the building to its clients. The pantry is open on Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (last client to check-in is at 11), closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon, and reopens from noon to 7 p.m. First-time clients should bring proof of residency for each member of the household. ■The Town Clerk is now open to the public for indoor in-person service. Masks are recommended for all those not fully vaccinated and please continue to observe social distancing. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license as the clerk is required to see it for all motor vehicle transactions. Vehicle and Dog Renewals may still be completed online. Vehicle renewal registration information was mailed to those who need to renew in January. Please follow the directions in the letter enclosed, and the Town Clerk will mail your new stickers and registration to you. This only covers vehicles previously registered in Salisbury, not new vehicles or vehicles of new residents. Online vehicle registration and renewals for dog licensing are now live on the town’s website. Also, the 2022 dog tags are in so please feel free to license your pooch a few months early. It is $6.50 for spayed/neutered pooches, $9 for intact pooches. Seniors, those 65 and up, get one discounted pooch for $2.
■The Library is now open to the public. Open hours are: Monday (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Tuesday (1 to 7 p.m.), Thursday (1 to 7 p.m.), and Saturday (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Pickup and delivery may not be available during story time or trustee meetings due to staffing, but can arrange a contactless pickup.. Please see their website for updated information. We are asking that everyone please wear a mask inside the library including those vaccinated and can provide masks if needed, but not including children under five or those with medical conditions. There is a time limit of one hour per visit. Please do not visit if you are sick. If you have a cough, cold, sore throat, muscle aches, or fever, please do not enter the building. Story time has been put on hold until spring 2022, please stay tuned to the library’s webpage for updates. Also check them out on Facebook for regular updates, links to virtual programming and events, curetted eBook and audiobook collections. You may download the Libby app to get audiobooks and eBooks from NH Downloadable Books Consortium, or Hoopla for digital eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, and TV. All you need to get started is a library card, and if you don’t have one already, we can get you set up via phone or email. The library still provides printing, scanning and faxing services but please give the Library a call or email first to arrange. Ancestry and Heritage Quest are available for genealogical research.
