■A free concert featuring BoneShakerz a local hard rock band will be held on June 12 at 4 p.m. at the Blueberry Express Park at the Allenstown Town Hall. ■Pittsfield Old Home Day is July 23. The parade will be at 10 a.m. with a shorter route. There will be no activities in Dustin Park, but a great family fun day at the F.B. Argue Recreation Area (aka Town Pool) starting at approximately 11 a.m. (after the parade). The Historical Society will hold a dedication and open house at the new building and later in the day the Nevers Band will perform at Drake Field followed by fireworks.
■The Pittsfield Victory Workers 4-H Club was established in 1942 by Ruth Kimball and Carol Ward with just 11 members, Marjorie Marston Feeny named the club and their primary focus was on gardening and canning. Victory Workers 4-H Club members and leaders meet on the first Monday of every month, October through May, at the Pittsfield Elementary School from 6:30 to 8 p.m. It includes a business meeting followed by a program. It’s currently under the key leadership of Pamela Clattenburg assisted by Melissa Babcock, Mark Riel, Corine Miller and Carolyn Davis, all former 4-H members. The June outing meeting this year will be held at the F.B. Argue Rec Area on June 12 at 1 p.m. with a cookout and 80-year club birthday celebration.

■It’s time to nominate a person for Pittsfield’s Citizen of the Year! Many people deserve to be honored for their actions and their commitment to Pittsfield. ■South Pittsfield Community Club Ham and Bean Suppers are bac June 11 and June 25, 5 to 6:30 p.m., at 444 Dowboro Road. Prices are adults $10, children ages 6 to 12 $5, under age 6 free. Menu includes ham, baked beans, brown bread, potato salad, drinks and pies. Eat-in or take out.
■The Josiah Carpenter Library is collecting plastic bottle caps for a very cool project. Please save them and drop them off at the library!
■Kick off the library’s Summer Reading Program “Oceans of Possibilities” by entering an art contest. All entries should follow an ocean theme, are due to the library by June 20.
