When I first moved to New Hampshire, I worked briefly at the New Hampshire Department of Education. My supervisor was Art Ellison. In the year and a half I worked under Art, I came to admire him as a truly dedicated education professional and a person of great integrity. Art is both passionate and caring. He cares about our schools, the students, the teachers, the parents and the towns and municipalities where our schools are located. That is why he works tirelessly to stop any reduction in funding for community education. He has worked tirelessly to improve educational opportunities in this state for people from all walks of life.
Art also cares about our democracy and our rights. He supports voting rights and a women’s right to make her own reproductive medical decisions. He has worked to get a cost of living increase for retired state workers. All of these things are important in this time of high inflation and when many in this state are seeking to undermine our public education system, take away women’s rights and further restrict the right to vote even though New Hampshire already ranks last in voting rights. I recently moved across town and discovered to my surprise that Art is now my state representative. I couldn’t be more pleased because I know I’m well represented by this very fine person. I hope you will join me and vote for Art in the upcoming election.
