For two of the three school board seats on the ballot this year in Concord, the incumbent decided not to run again and a new candidate is running unopposed in their place.
Sarah Robinson said months ago that she would not seek another three year term on the school board, citing the time and bandwidth needed to fulfill the role. She represents “Zone C,” or city Wards 8-10, nearly all of Concord east of the Merrimack River.
Alexander Dubois, a special education teacher in the Derry school district, is running unopposed to fill the seat. Dubois has spent his career thus far as a special education teacher in New Hampshire after graduating from Keene State College.
Alexander Dubois

Age: 29
Years living in Concord: 5
Top issues: Special education, academic outcomes and learning trends, student mental health and wellbeing
Reason for running: “As an educator myself, I want to ensure that the children of Concord are given proper opportunities to learn and grow. As the capital city, I believe Concord has a duty to lead by example in educational excellence. I also am passionate about politics and believe that the local, municipal level is the best way to see real changes happen.”
Key points:
- On the middle school: “Concord Heights is divided by the issue of the Rundlett Middle School. We need to find a middle ground on improving student education while also being mindful of taxpayer dollars being used… The children of Concord deserve to grow and learn in the highest quality educational facility that can be given to them.”
- On his experience: “I bring fresh perspective and ideas through my unique experience as a special educator. My time spent teaching in and out of district placements is useful in speaking up for the students and families that are often forgotten about. Through this, I have witnessed some of the mental health effects on students whose needs were not able to be met within their public school districts.”
