Re-elect Cara Meeker to School Board

Cara Meeker has earned a second term on the Concord School Board. She is thoughtful, practical, collaborative, a clear communicator and committed to doing right by the students and taxpayers of Concord.

Cara speaks with conviction and common sense about the importance of moving ahead and building a new Concord Middle School. She’s been involved with the project for years, and was among the few who voted in favor of rebuilding at Rundlett back in 2023.

During the Concord Monitor Candidate Forum for Zone B candidates, Cara’s opponent made it clear that he wants to renovate the current Rundlett building, an idea that’s been dismissed as maximally chaotic and expensive since 2018. At Thursday night’s meeting, the School Board reaffirmed its decision to build new. Thankfully, one disruptive voice won’t derail the project at this stage.

I say thank you to the board for looking to the future. I trust Cara and her fellow School Board members to work with the district, the contractors and the community to keep costs in check to the extent possible, while creating a modern middle school that will serve students for 100 years to come.

The new middle school is far from the only issue facing the School Board. With Cara’s experience, community connections, and understanding of the many issues facing the district, she’s the best choice to continue serving as our School Board member in Zone B (Wards 5, 6 and 7).
