The Bow Falcons kept rolling in Division II and earned one last win on home soil in the quarterfinal against Coe-Brown, 3-1.

The third-seeded Falcons (10-3-3) advanced to their 16th consecutive final four after beating the sixth-seeded Bears (9-5-2) on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior midfielder Brylie Gelinas, sophomore defender Zoey Lupien and senior forward Ashley Wallen were the three goal scorers for Bow while Jolee Trudel provided an assist.

Defensively, though, Bow showed its strength. The back line of Lupien, junior Madison Pfister, senior Charlotte Larochelle and sophomore Autumn Betteridge held strong until the very last minute when Coe-Brown poked one in.

Bow’s head coach, Jay Vogt, said his defense has played fantastically all year. They have cleaned up lobbed balls and swept opponents’ passes away. He said he couldn’t ask for more.

On the other end of Bow’s perennial success were the Coe-Brown Bears, who showed promise under the new system of Head Coach Rachel McGill after playing under Coach Josh Hils for 20 seasons.

“I am so proud of these girls. This group of girls is fantastic and I just want to give a huge shoutout to my four seniors, Bella Lapierre, Emma Place, Jadyn Spearin and Sadie Scruton,” McGill said after the game.

Lapierre, a forward, scored one last goal as the clock ticked down near zero. The entire team kept pushing for a goal despite the adverse score, and McGill knows that fire is something she can work with.

Bow will move on to play No. 2 Oyster River (10-2-5) in the semifinal at Bill Ball Stadium in Exeter on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Bow lost 1-0 to the Bobcats in the regular season and will need some more solid defense to get back to the D-II Championship.

“We have to play more of our game,” Vogt said about the match-up. “We honestly didn’t have a good game and Oyster River’s a good team.”
