A 5-year-old girl died after being hit by a car in Loudon, authorities said on Monday.

Loudon Police Chief Dana Flanders said the police and fire departments responded to a report of โ€œpediatric traumaโ€ around 4 p.m. on Friday. Officers found the child, Cora Frye, underneath a car and got her to Concord Hospital, Flanders said.

Cora was later transferred to Boston Childrenโ€™s Hospital, where she died.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Coraโ€™s family. In photos, Cora appears beaming from ear to ear, arms open wide with one foot resting on a soccer ball outside, and wearing a bedazzled tiara on her fifth birthday.

โ€œShe was so free-spirited, happy, smart, loving and had a smile and a laugh that could light up the room,โ€ her dad, Tim Frye, said in a message on the GoFundMe page. โ€œThis is a nightmare we donโ€™t wish for any parent.โ€
