New Hampshire Golf has been selected to join the United States Golf Association’s U.S. National Development Program (USNDP), establishing Team New Hampshire as a pathway for the state’s elite junior golfers to compete at higher levels.

The USNDP aims to identify, support and develop American junior golfers through opportunities at the state, regional and national levels.

The state-team-based model also works to connect the junior golf landscape and connect athletes with each other and the resources needed to continue developing.

New Hampshire Golf said that it will partner with a dedicated committee for the team and will select its first squad for the 2028 season sometime in late 2027. The team will roster eight players: four boys and four girls between the ages of 13 and 18.

“This is an exciting step forward for junior golf in New Hampshire,” said Ben Lanman, director of junior golf at New Hampshire Golf, in a press release.

The selected athletes will have access to structured development focused on competitive opportunities, player growth and team culture, the press release said.

The New Hampshire association said it represents a continued commitment to growing the game and supporting junior golfers at every stage while fostering a sense of pride in representing the state.

“The opportunity to be part of the USNDP allows us to build on the strong foundation of junior golf in our state and create additional opportunities for our top players to develop, compete and represent New Hampshire,” Lanman said. “It will also give developing players something to strive for. We’re excited to work alongside the USGA to bring this program to life here in the Granite State.”

The program is only for U.S. citizens who are New Hampshire residents. Players must be 13 years old by January 1, 2028, and not have reached their 19th birthday before the completion of the 2028 USGA Junior Amateur to be eligible.

Information about the team, including player selection, the program’s structure and future opportunities, will be shared in the future as it builds out.
