Middle school results

The Merrimack Valley Middle School girls’ soccer team deafeated Windham, 4-2. Rylee Boucher had three goals and Alyssa Woodman had one. Sierra Bourque was strong on defense and Mackenzie McDonald did a good job in net. MV is 8-1-1.

The Bow Middle School boys’ soccer team fell to Kearsarge, 4-2. Nick Steigmeier and Nate Dolder scored for Bow. Matt Lamy headed a corner kick to set up Dolder’s goal. Kearsarge’s strong offense powered the Cougars to the win.

The Rundlett Middle School girls’ soccer “A” team tied Merrimack, 3-3. Ty Harrington, Kelsey Mayer and Mary Martinson scored for RMS.

The Rundlett Middle School boys’ soccer “A” team lost to Merrimack, 5-4. Sujan Bhujel scored three goals for RMS and Garrett Miskoe had one goal. Flynn O’Sullivan, Roy Annis and Nader Watcher worked hard on the field for Rundlett. RMS is 5-1-5.

The Rundlett Middle School “A” volleyball team fell to Lodonderry in two sets, 25-8 and 25-21. Ava Harmon, Peyton Trento, Izabelle Thurston, Elizabeth Blinn and Lucy Culp were strong for the Dukes. Grace Ferguson, Elizabeth Mullen, Katie Martel and Grace MacDonald each contributed kills.

The Hopkinton Middle School girls’ soccer team lost to Litchfield, 5-0.

The Hopkinton fifth- and sixth-grade girls’ soccer team defeated Weare, 6-0. The Hawks of the game were Cassidy Follansbee, Greta Hogblom, Fiona Ekstrom and Kaelyn Branham. Hopkinton finished the season at 5-5. Playoffs begin Saturday in Warner.

Freshman result

The Concord High freshmen football team beat Bedford, 32-6. The Tide are 7-0. Tyler Wright and Nate Vandersea made some great catches to lead the offense, while Augustine Twite and Tanner Reale led the team on defense.

JV result

The Hopkinton boys’ JV soccer team lost to Belmont, 4-1. Freshman forward Andrew Beckwith scored off an assist from Spencer Burdette for Hopkinton’s goal. The Hawks are 7-5-1.


Seacoast Express United soccer is holding tryouts for their SUSC Emerging Talent Academy (for players born in 2008-2011) and SUSC Player Development (players born in 2004-2007) teams. Players will participate in two 12-week sessions. Session I (October-January) is focused skill development and small-sided play, while Session II (January-April) is focused on more intense training and competitive match play. Tryouts for boys are Monday from 5-6 p.m. (2008-2010 birth years) and from 6:15-7:15 p.m. (2006-2007 birth years). Bow Athletic Club youth basketball registrations are open. The program is open to Bow and Dunbarton residents in first grade through high school. Evaluations of players begin as early as Sunday so do not wait to register. Registration closes on Sunday. Hopkinton Youth Sports Association basketball signups for the 2017-18 season are now open. There are teams or events for pre-K through 12th grade. Evaluations for third-sixth grades are will be held from Oct. 23-26 at the Hopkinton High School gym, pre-registration is required. FieldHouse Sports indoor soccer leagues are being offered. There are leagues for women age 25 and older, men 18 and older and men 30 and older. There are also several coed adult divisions based on skill level. Team and individual registrations are being accepted and all abilities are welcome. The next 12-week session begins the week of Oct. 20-26. Youth leagues (for ages 5-18) begin the week of Oct. 24-Nov. 4. Tune-Up Basketball League will be held at Inter-Lakes Elementary School in Meredith for boys and girls in grades 6-10 to prepare for the upcoming season. The league is open to players from area towns. Space is limited so early registration is encouraged. All games will be played at ILES. The 10-game schedule begins Oct. 21 and runs through Nov. 11. Seacoast Express United indoor soccer leagues are being offered for adults throughout the winter months. A women’s league will be starting Oct. 23 and run for 12 weeks. Little Strikers soccer skills clinics for ages 3-6 are open for registration at Fieldhouse Sports in Bow. The next five-week session begins this Saturday and meets on Saturday mornings. Clinics are instructional, interactive and fun. Cost is $40 for Mini Strikers (ages 3-4) and $50 for Little Strikers (ages 5-6) and includes a T-shirt. FieldHouse Sports field hockey skills clinic is accepting registrations for boys and girls ages 4-10. Beginners are encouraged to participate. The next session begins Thursday. Clinics meet on Thursday afternoons for five-week sessions and are coached by Tracy Berube, past Bow High varsity field hockey coach. The cost is $65. NHTI basketball clinic hosted by Paul Hogan, the NHTI Athletic Director and men’s basketball coach, will take place on Oct. 22 from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at NHTI. The clinic is open to youth, middle school and high school coaches and will cover topics like post player development, conditioning, defensive training/tactics and offensive schemes. The instructors will be Jen Fithian of NHTI, Rich Fazzi of Newbury College, Andrew Novick of Plymouth State University, Nick Whitmore of New Hampton School, Ryan Cain of Keene State College and Hogan. Seacoast United Cubs Baseball Club will be offering specialized skills classes for players in the Concord area. The 12-week classes begin on Oct. 24 and will be offered from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesdays. It will include classes such as General Skill Development, Gap-to-Gap Hitters’ Clinic, Strike-One Pitchers’ Clinic and Caught Stealing Catchers’ Clinic. FieldHouse Sports Indoor Sports Facility soccer skills and goalkeeping clinics will begin Nov. 6 and run for six weeks. Clinics will be directed by Jorge Pardo, Director of Caramba Soccer Camps. Cap City Basketball is hosting a clinic on Saturday at the Concord Boys & Girls Club. Players in grades 3-5 will go from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and grades 6-9 will go from 12:30-2 p.m. The cost is $30 and includes a Cap City Dri-FIT T-shirt. Payment and registration will only be at the door.

John Stark Generals Football and Cheer Association is hosting a night football game its grade 7/8 team on Oct. 21 at Bolton Memorial Field in Weare at 7 p.m. The Generals will be taking on the Monadnock Huskies. Bring the family down for some food and a great night of football. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. JSGFCA is asking for a $5 donation per car to offset the expenses of the night game. Friends of New England College Hockey Golf Outing will take place at Beaver Meadow Golf Course on Oct. 21 with an 11 a.m. sign-up and a shotgun start at noon. Bishop Brady and St. John Athletic Hall of Fame induction will be held on Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at Bishop Brady High School. The 2017 inductees include Neil Ackley (class of ’69), Robert Paveglio, (’69), Joe Farrelly (’73), John Hardiman (’67), Chelsea Proulx (’06), Scott Laliberte (’85) and Coach Greg Roberts who will receive the Sixth Man Award.
