Open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act ends in a week: Midnight on Dec. 15, is the deadline to enroll in the health insurance program.
As in recent years, three health care providers – Anthem, Ambetter and Harvard Pilgrim – offer plans on New Hampshire’s Marketplace this year. These plans included coverage throughout the state and at all of New Hampshire’s hospitals.
Most people who apply will be eligible for subsidies to reduce or in some cases cover all out-of-pocket costs for a wide range of plans, depending on income levels. Even those who are keeping the same insurance from last year should check out the options, as coverage or costs may have changed.
To learn more about signing up for health care coverage through the ACA marketplace, go to Healthcare.gov or CuidadoDeSalud.gov. Additional information about how the Affordable Care Act is helping New Hampshire residents access affordable care is available at CoveringNH.org.
Free help for signing up can be found at acanavigator.com/nh/home.
Many families may also qualify for Medicaid through the Granite Advantage Program at NHeasy.com.
