Police found a man dead in a Warren Street apartment in Concord just before noon Saturday after a caller reported hearing gunshots, authorities said.

The death is considered “suspicious” but no arrests had been made, authorities said.

“Based on facts known at this time, there is no evidence to suggest there is a threat to the general public,” Deputy Attorney General Jane Young and Concord Police Chief Bradley Osgood said in a statement.

Just after 11:30 a caller notified police of a disturbance outside a fourth-floor apartment at 46 Warren St., authorities said. Within minutes the caller reported hearing gunshots.

Officers arriving at the scene found a man suffering from “an apparent gunshot wound,” the Attorney General’s Office said. The man was given medical attention but was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information is expected to be released until an autopsy is complete. The autopsy was scheduled for Sunday.

The name of the adult man was not released pending notification of next-of-kin, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

Anyone who may have information related to the incident is encouraged to call Concord Police Department at (603) 225-8600.
