Letter: Let’s elect Feltes

It will come as no surprise to anyone who reads this paper, and follows the news in general, that the opioid crisis continues.

Just about every day we read or hear stories of those with substance use disorder that are heartbreaking and tragic. During his time as governor, Chris Sununu has failed the residents of New Hampshire in addressing this public health epidemic.

He says his “Doorways” program is a “huge success,” but in reality it’s a doorway to nowhere. His administration refuses to add actual treatment capacity and beds to help those in need.

Now Sununu wants a third term as governor. This, despite the fact that his record is one of a worsening opioid public health epidemic. His administration also has failed to address the fact that New Hampshire continues to have the highest health care costs in the nation – the highest premiums, copays and deductibles.

I believe it’s time for a change. I’d like to see someone in the corner office who has actually fought for working families his entire life. Someone who doesn’t come from the entitled elite. And someone with a record of bipartisan accomplishment.

I know Dan Feltes, and I know he cares about all us – whether we are rich or poor, conservative or liberal. Let’s elect former legal aid attorney Dan Feltes the next governor of New Hampshire.
