Boys’ Lacrosse

Kearsarge 9, John Stark 4

Key players: Kearsarge – Brodie Malynowski (14 saves), Ollie Smith (2 goals), Eli Whipple (2 goals), Cole Tucker (2 goals, 2 assists), Quinn Cusick (goal, 2 assists), Gunnar Benedict (goal, assist), Bragen Kinzer (goal, ground balls), Aiden Ruckman (ground balls); John Stark – Parker Hamel (17 saves), Cooper Twombly (goal, 2 assists), Cam Shaw (goal, 2 assists), Shane Brunini (5 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers)

Highlights: The Generals kept the game close in the first half, trailing 4-3 at halftime, but the Cougars took control of the game in the second thanks to impressive goaltending from Malynowski and a strong defensive lineup of Noah Whipple, Braden Hurley and Cooper Russell. Jacob Heath’s long-pole midfield play was particularly disruptive for Kearsarge, thwarting several offensive efforts by John Stark. Both goalies played well in slippery, challenging conditions.

Highlights: The Falcons won on the road behind great team defense and work on draws, with Antuna winning his 200th career faceoff. Bow pulled away in the third quarter.

Highlights: Hopkinton led 3-2 at the end of the first quarter, the game was tied 4-4 at halftime and the Hawks led 7-6 after three, but Plymouth played tough defense to limit Hopkinton’s scoring opportunities and took control down the stretch.

Highlights: Concord outshot Bedford in the first quarter, but the Bulldogs eventually broke down the Tide’s defense.
