Letter: Carey a dedicated businesswoman

I’m writing to share why I support Lorrie Carey for NH House District 26 (Boscawen, Franklin, Canterbury, Northfield).

Lorrie comes from a farming family, and she’s run a family floral business in Boscawen for 30 years. She’s also a longtime community volunteer, serving on several school-related boards, the Chamber of Commerce’s government affairs committee, UNH Cooperative Extension board, Zonta women’s service club, and as president of Franklin Business and Professional Women. Not least, she’s a mom of four children, two of whom are in high school (remotely because of COVID).

All of which is to say that Lorrie is a practical businesswoman who’s used to juggling many commitments and being part of many communities. She shares a legislative platform with two District 9 candidates, Leslie Bergevin and Lois Friedrich, with whom she supports fully funding public education for all New Hampshire students and better access to health care, including telehealth and paid family leave insurance.

I know Lorrie to be a thoughtful, good-humored, and fair-minded person who will serve our communities well.
