Letter: Stand behind Patten

Heights Ward 8-District 17 needs to stand behind their longtime state representative, Dick Patten. Dick has served the Heights in many different capacities and chaired and maintained many Concord/Heights community service projects. Dick brings years of prior experience of representing Ward 8-District 17 and brings infinite knowledge of that community to the table.

Dick is the chairman of the Concord Grange 322 and brings continued leadership to that organization, which in earlier years was originally called the Pineconia Grange and located on Ormond Street. Since that time, it has changed names and still holds its meetings on Airport Road.

The Heights community needs someone who is familiar with Ward 8-District 17 and someone who has spent his whole life living here.

He also has played a major factor in many time-honored Concord traditions, such as the 48th annual Concord Heights Christmas Parade and the State House tree-lighting ceremony. All massive projects which take years of dedication and leadership to pull off.

I have known Dick Patten since our days at Dame School, which for many of us old timers sadly closed its doors in 2012. Dick and I have recently formed a Dame School alumni group to salvage our history and to maintain stability in our relationships with all those former and current Dame School/Heights residents.

If they were to select a Mr. Heights, it would be Dick Patten, hands down. Please come and support our hometown candidate!
