Cam Darrah stepped up to the free-throw line and delivered two clutch shots with 6.4 seconds left to play. Jameson Bourque stood between the pipes and made 25 saves on the top seed in the tournament. Both players were instrumental in bringing state championships home to their respective programs on Saturday to split the Monitor Player of the Week Award.

Darrah, the senior guard for the Pittsfield boys’ basketball team, led the Panthers (21-1) to its first ever Division IV championship, scoring a game-high 17 points in a 43-40 win over No. 5 Newmarket.

Bourque, the junior netminder for the John Stark-Hopkinton boys’ hockey team, has been strong all postseason, but held No. 1 Kennett in check during the General Hawks’ 6-2 victory in Saturday’s Division III championship. Bourque allowed just three goals in three tournament games to provide Stark-Hopkinton with its first state title since 2013.
