OLLI hosts book discussion group

Thursday, September 28, 2017

Since 2016, the OLLI Concord Book Club, dubbed “Chapter Chat” has met with anyone interested in book discussion. People were encouraged to bring books to exchange and to briefly discuss a favorite current read. It was a lively discussion and led to the formation of the group. From that humble beginning, 18 active members travel from many towns to join in the chat about the current selection. Members take turns leading the discussion. Books are chosen by the group for the following four months to help members find and read the books.

OLLI Concord Chapter Chat meets on the second Monday of the month from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Granite State College.

The current selections include:

Oct. 9 – Lincoln’s Boys: John Hay, John Nicolay and the War for Lincoln’s Image by Joshua Zietz

Nov. 13 – On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons From the Twentieth Century by Timothy Snyder

Dec. 11 – The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

Jan. 8 – Dark Money by Jane Mayer
