Concord police are investigating a shooting on Rumford Street where one man sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries as a result of a single gunshot wound.

Police responded to the area of Rumford and Walker streets around 7 p.m. on Sunday night to investigate a call about shots fired in the area. Witnesses reported seeing and hearing two men chasing each other on Rumford Street while one reached into his waistband for what appeared to be a firearm, police said.

A few minutes prior to the call, a male arrived at Concord Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

The individuals involved in the incident have been identified and it was determined there was no danger to the public, police said.

Concord Police did not respond to a request for additional information, including if anyone has been arrested or charged.
