For many years, David McReynolds was the field secretary of the War Resisters League, based in New York City.

I was fortunate to hear him speak in the fall of 1960 and 1961.

He urged us “to pay attention to a small country in Southeast Asia where we were sending in military advisors.”

He said that we would undoubtedly be hearing more about that country in future years.

If only more people could have heard him speak and noted his warnings.
