Franklin town crier for April 5, 2020

Food to go

■The Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry regular hours of 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays at 2 Central Street. Prepacked boxes will be handed at the door rather than folks coming inside to select items.  If you are able, please consider a donation to Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry, 2 Central Street, Franklin NH 03235.

■Franklin VNA may be able to offer some of their clinics/bereavement services.  However, please call 934-3454  to check.

■All this down time has prompted me to go through my closet to think about things I haven’t worn in a long time.  One outlet is the Thrift Clothes Closet in downtown Franklin.  Set aside a bin for there as you go through your closets. I am also setting  aside a bin labeled for Karma Korner, a free “store” at Franklin High School.  So many of the things we take for granted in our home storage areas are desperately needed by many.  Also an ongoing need for these students are supplies of hygiene products (soaps, deodorants, toothbrushes and toothpaste, feminine products).  New packs of underwear are a must!  Laundry detergent pods are needed for their inhouse washer and dryer.

■The two above places are, of course, closed now but have donations ready for them when we all get back to normal.

■Two scholarships available through Franklin Business and Professional Women (BPW) for women 22 years or older who work or live in the greater Franklin BPW membership area and who are working toward advancing skills and career with additional education.  Application form is online at bpwfranklin.org, see Programs and scroll down to Scholarship information..  Deadline is May 15.  The winners of $500 each will be notified in June.  Check the website for updates.
