ALLENSTOWNTown Election

■The Town of Allenstown will be holding Town Election on March 14 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall located at 10 School St.

■Sainte Therese Rosebush Society will be meeting on Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall. If you have any questions please call Melaine at (603) 848-1351.

■The Community Table is held on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the St. John the Baptist Parish Hall.

■The Suncook Senior Center and the Meals on Wheels program will be closed on Feb. 20 for Presidents Day.

■Arts and Crafts will be held on Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center and this week will be crafter’s choice.

■The senior’s upcoming trip to The MacTougas Brothers Band and Bobby O’Justin’s Irish Celebration. At Daversport Yacht Club on March 15 for only $111. The price includes transportation, lunch, taxes, and gratuities with a live show. Enjoy a traditional Irish lunch with corned beef and cabbage or boneless chicken. CHICHESTERCurriculum Night 

■The Chichester Library along with NH Humanities Book Group presents Hamnet, A Novel of the Plague. The facilitator is Carrie Brown on March 6 at 7 p.m. Only 20 spots are available, sign up at the library.

■Town Offices will be closed on Feb. 20 in celebration of Presidents Day. The Board of Selectmen will meet at the town hall on Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.

■The school will introduce a school-wide Curriculum Night on Feb. 22 starting at 5:30 p.m. Programs will include unified arts and program highlights, along with extra curriculum exhibits and special performances in the gym. The 8th grade will be holding a raffle to benefit environmental camp for their classmates.

■The BCEP Solid Waste District will meet at the Pittsfield Facility on Feb. 23 starting at 6 p.m.

■The school athletic department is thinking of spring and is now accepting track and field and cross country sign-ups at the front office.

■Congratulations to the 3rd and 4th grade girls’ basketball team who successfully ended the basketball season with the championship trophy.

■March 24 is election day for town and school officials. If you will be out of town or unable to vote in-person, absentee ballots are available. See town clerk, Bonnie Potter, for proper forms to vote absentee for town and school ballots. Alisa Mullen, school clerk has the form for school ballots and can be reached at 767-9102.

■The Chichester Annual School Meeting date has been changed from March 4 to 11 at 9 a.m. at the school.

■Fun at the library on Tuesdays with story time at 10:45 a.m. and on Thursdays with music and movement. Designed for three and four-year-olds, but all are welcome.

■The Chichester Youth Association wishes to take notice that baseball flyers that were sent home from CCS to families, that the forms were from another organization and not associated with CYA. To register go to www.chichesteryouth.com.

■On Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. the CYA will meet at the fire station and discuss the ball season.

■Warm weather brings out riding and driving horses on our roads. RSA 265:104 states that every vehicle approaching a horse shall use caution to prevent frightening of the horse and ensure the safety of the person riding or driving.

■Meet the candidates night for the position of school superintendent of SAU 53 will take place on Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. in the PA library. The interview team from Chichester along with other sending towns will lead the interview. All Chichester residents are welcome to attend

EPSOMTown meetings

■Supervisors of the checklist will be meeting on March 4 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Epsom town library. The Supervisors of the checklist will be in session for correction of the checklist. Additions and corrections to the checklist may be made: RSA 654:27, no additions or corrections shall be made to the checklist after this session, until election day, except as provided in RSA 659:12.

■The Board of Selectmen will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the town office meeting room.

■The Planning Board will meet on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the town office meeting room.

■The Library will be closed on Monday in observance of President’s Day.

■Morning Story Time will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and feature books, movement, snacks and crafts! Themes for this month include Black History Month and Valentine’s Day. Bedtime Story Time on Thursday at 6 p.m. Families are invited to a story time that will feature bedtime books and relaxing movement activities. Pajamas, blankets, and stuffies are highly encouraged.

■Thinker Thursday on Feb. 23: homemade play dough. Using a simple recipe we’ll create our own play dough. Participants will get to customize the color and scent of the play dough and take it home with them that day.

■Movie Matinee on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Crossword Mysteries: Riddle Me Dead.

■The Friends of the Epsom Public Library will again be hosting the Meet the Candidates forum. Meet the Candidates will be held at the library meeting room on March 5 at 2 p.m. March 12 will be the snow date. The election is on March 14.

■Epsom Central School will be holding registration and screenings for the 2023 to 2024 incoming Kindergarten students. The screenings will be taking place on the following dates: March 15 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 4 to 5:30 p.m.), March 16 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and March 17 from (9 a.m. to noon).

■Are you thinking about your 2022 Income Taxes? Need help with your return? The library will again be hosting the VITA/TCE Tax Aide Program to assist you with your tax preparation and submission. The program is jointly sponsored by the IRS and the AARP Foundation. Any taxpayer whose return is within the program scope is welcome. Although this is a free service, you will need to make an appointment by going online to www.nhtaxhelp.org or calling 1 (888) 227-7669 or 211. This is a volunteer program. The tax preparers are certified annually by the IRS. Tax Aide representatives will be at the Epsom Library on Thursdays from Feb. 2 to March 30.

■If your child will be a new (to ECS), incoming first-grade student, literacy screenings will be held on March 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m. At the time of registration, we will require your child’s birth certificate, most recent physical, immunization record, and two proofs of residency with one of the proofs being a purchase and sales agreement, tax bill, or rental agreement, and the second proof being a utility bill that is mailed to your physical address in Epsom. Please call the main office at 736-9331 to schedule your child’s 45-minute block of time for either screening.

■EYAA Meeting on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in Room 224.

■The Epsom Community Garden has spring garden plots available! Plots are on Goboro Road, $20 per plot (partial scholarships available), 15’x20’ each with on-site water. Reserve your garden plot now! ■Community Balance Screening at Pembroke Town Library on Feb. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Granite VNA Community Health Educator will be on-site to conduct individual, 15-minute balance screenings. Please register in advance. “A Matter of Balance” fall prevention series will be offered beginning March 10. This event is free and open to the public.
