■On Thursday at 6:30 p.m., a second public hearing will be held on the proposed 2023 budget and warrant articles. The meeting will be held in the fourth floor meeting room of the Town Municipal Offices at 115 N. Main St. Overflow seating will be in the Boscawen Public Library.

■Listen to the The Fretbenders who are the featured band at High Street Coffee House on March 3. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. in the Boscawen Congregational Church sanctuary and music is from 7 to 10 p.m. It is an “Open Mic” venue welcoming musicians, poets and comedians to join to take the stage for two songs or ten minutes. Admission is always free, though a donation basket is passed. A great array of refreshments plus hot and cold drinks is available. ■Meet the Candidates Night will be held on March 6 beginning at 6 p.m. in the fourth floor meeting room of the Town Municipal Offices. If you can’t attend in-person, join the Go-To-Meeting at https://meet.goto.com/978233349 or dial in by phone using access code (987) 233-349.

■Volunteers for the Old Home Day committee are invited to join the meeting on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Town Offices. Call Polly Dawson at (603) 796-7001 if you have questions. Meetings are held monthly on the third Monday except when it is a holiday.

■President’s Day will be celebrated on Feb. 20 and the town offices, and the public library will be closed.

■The Elkins Public Library will be closed on Feb. 20 for Presidents Day.

■“Wild Backyard Medicinal Herbs” on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. in the Town Hall with Maria Noël Groves, RH (AHG), clinical herbalist and best-selling author.

■The next Board of Elkins Public Library Board of Trustees is on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.

■On Feb. 28 at the library from 10 a.m. to noon are Legos. Join us for a drop-in Lego time; there will be a table of Duplos for our younger patrons.

■March 2 at 2 p.m. is Movie Day. Join us for an afternoon movie at the library - We’ll be showing The Bad Guys (PG). Popcorn will be provided.

■Free Tech Help on Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m., in half-hour time slots, Katie McKay offers free tech support at the library. Please schedule an appointment and give a brief description of the nature of the issue. Appointments fill up quickly.

SALISBURYLibrary seeks director applicants

■The Salisbury Book Group will meet on Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. at the library. The group will be reading, The Searcher, by Tana French. Due to the January meeting being canceled, we will also discuss, Wish You Were Here, By Jodi Picoult. ■The Salisbury Free Library is currently accepting resumes and seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of part-time Library Director. Interested persons should apply by submitting a resume, cover letter and three references to salisburyfreelibrarytrustees@gmail.com.

■The Library Trustees will hold a policy work session meeting at the Library on Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. Non-public sessions will be called as needed in accordance with RSA 91-A: 3, II. ■There will be a Select Board meeting on Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.

■The Zoning Board of Adjustments deadline is on Feb. 22 (all day).

■The Planning Board Application deadline is on Feb. 24 at 3 p.m.

■The Supervisors of the Checklist meeting will be on March 4 from 11 a.m. to noon at Town Hall.

■The following people are running for office in Webster: David Hemenway is running for a three-year term as Selectman; Mary L. Welch is running for a three-year term as Town Clerk; Karen King is running for a three-year term as Tax Collector; Therese E. Larson is running for a three-year term as Treasurer; Benjamin Nadeau is running for a six-year term as Supervisor of the Checklist; Brenda Silver is running for a three-year term as Cemetery Trustee; Nancy Picthall-French is running for a three-year term as Library Trustee; and Denise Lawless is running for a two-year term as a Library Trustee. There are two openings where no one has registered to run: Trustee of the Trust Funds for three years and Trustee of the Trust Funds for one year.

■The town election will be held at the Town Hall on March 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Town Meeting will be held on March 18 at 10 a.m. You need a photo ID for the election and Town Meeting.
