Hudson Picnic for veterans

Hudson Memorial VFW Post 5791 will be hosting its 5th annual Veterans Appreciation BBQ picnic for all NH veterans and their families at the Hudson VFW on 15 Bockes Road on Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is open to anyone who has served in any branch of the U.S. military. Veterans don’t have to be a member of the VFW, American Legion or any other veterans’ organization to attend. This is just a recognition of your service and an opportunity to meet your fellow Veterans. Vets are encouraged to bring their spouses, kids, and grandkids. There is a large fenced-in picnic area (weather permitting) and a large hall if the weather is bad. Veterans are automatically entered in a drawing for $400 worth of free door prizes. Various Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs) will be on hand to distribute information and speak with Veterans about the services they offer. Lunch will be free hamburgers, hot dogs, soda and all the fixings. We will have horseshoes, bocce, and cornhole games, plus games for the kids. From 2 to 4 p.m., Cooties Pup Tent #1 will be holding a Cootie Cornhole Tournament in front of the Post. Entry fee is $5 per player, contact
