Wilton ‘Beau Brummel’ (1924) screened with live music

A seldom screened picture featuring silent-era megastar John Barrymore will return to the screen in August for a rare revival. “Beau Brummel” (1924), a period drama produced by Warner Bros., will be shown on Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Town Hall Theatre, 40 Main St., in Wilton. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $10. Live music will be provided by Jeff Rapsis. For information, call (603) 654-3456.

New London Center for the Arts’s first Family Arts Festival

Find out about local arts classes and opportunities for kids this fall or just come have fun! Activities include music by Decatur Creek, arts and crafts, face painting, dance performances by Dance Arts Academy and Kearsarge Conservatory for the Performing Arts, Upper Valley Circus, and more. It’s a great time to gather information from local arts organizations about their upcoming programs and classes. Participating organizations include: New London Barn Playhouse, Library Arts Center, Dance Arts Academy, Kearsarge Conservatory for the Performing Arts, Tracy Memorial LIbrary, Dunbar Free Library, New London Recreation, Andover Library, Concord School of Music, Upper Valley Circus, and more. The fun takes place at the New London Historical Society, 179 Little Lake Sunapee Road, from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Francestown The Ruta Beggars

The Francestown Old Meeting House hosts The Ruta Beggars on Aug. 20 from 4 to 5 p.m. The Ruta Beggars combine bluegrass and early swing to create intricate vocal harmonies, fiery instrumentals, and plenty of fun.
