Bread & Roses reopens

■Visit the Farmer’s Market from 3 to 6 p.m. at Marceau Park every Thursday through September 30. Wonderful fresh produce, baked goods, artisans and more. SNAP and EBT cards, as well as credit and debit cards are accepted.

■The City Council meets Monday at 6 p.m. Provisions for persons with special needs can be made by contacting the city manager’s office, via telephone or mail at least five days prior to the public hearing. Mail to 316 Central St., Franklin, NH 03235 or call (603) 934-3900.

■The Franklin Bread & Roses Kitchen has reopened on Mondays and Thursdays. The Kitchen is in the Unitarian University Church near the Peabody Home. Doors open at 4 p.m. and meals are served at 5 p.m.

■The food pantry accepts empty, rinsed aluminum cans which can be turned into cash to help support the work of the pantry. Drop off on Tuesday and Thursday 9 to 11 a.m., or Wednesday 5 to 7 p.m., or call 934-2662 to make arrangements. Located at 1 Central Street, use the lower levelo.

■The newly re-established Franklin Rotary Club meets regularly at noon at Pizza Chef in West Franklin. This month’s meetings are on Sept. 15 and 22. Contact jtilton.cca@gmail.com for information.

■On Sept. 25 the Franklin Opera House welcomes Rockin’ Daddios to the stage. Tap your toes and sing along to their fun and stylish renditions of hits from the 1950s and ’60s. Visit franklinoperahouse.org for tickets and more information.

■TRIP Center offers lunch every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m., followed by Bingo. Line Dancing resumes at the TRIP Center every Friday beginning Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. Keep Movin’ resumes every Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Chair Exercises at the TRIP Center every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. Call 934-4151 with questions.

■The Franklin VNA offers Fall Prevention and a foot clinic on Sept. 14 and the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the TRIP Center. Call VNA at 934-3454 with questions and to set an appointment.

■The Lions Club meets the first and third Mondays of the month at Pizza Chef, from 5:30 to 6 p.m. social time, place your order. The meeting begins at 6 p.m., all are welcome. Contact Cheryl Powers at LionCherylPwrs@aol.com or (603) 848-3373 for more information.

■The Thrift Clothes Closet is gathering toiletries and hygiene products to give to Karma Korner. Call 934-2423 with any questions. Be sure to visit the Closet’s Facebook regularly to keep up on all their good work and excellent deals. The Closet generously donates their profits to many local organizations.

■Karma Korner, the in-school (free) store for students needs school supplies, underwear, detergent pods for the laundry. Later in the season they will be collecting winter outerwear, so keep that in mind as you go through your closets. At this time, the Korner cannot accept any clothing.

■Shelving for display purposes is needed by Karma Korner. If you or someone you know has shelves they no longer need, please call the high school at 934-5411 to arrange for drop-off.
