■Holiday Stroll returns on Dec. 2 from 3 to 8 p.m. Holiday Craft Village at Franklin Public Library, Santa’s Workshop at Bessie Rowell Community Center, car parade with Santa, Christmas caroling and tree lighting (6:30 p.m.), wagon rides. Following the tree lighting, walk down to the Franklin Opera House for the opening of the Festival of Trees. Visit Franklin Falls Business Group on Facebook for more details.

■The 10th Annual Festival of Trees, presented by the Franklin Opera House, returns from Dec. 2 to 4. Donations of decorated trees, wreaths, wall hangings, gift baskets, etc. donated by individuals, families, businesses, and organizations. This free event offers folks the opportunity to purchase sheets of 25 raffle tickets for $5 each for a chance to win one of the donated items. The festival takes place on Dec. 2 from 5 to 9 p.m., Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at which time the raffle will be drawn.

■Franklin Rotary Club guest speaker on Dec. 7 at noon will be from the Franklin Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice. Learn about this great community organization and, if pressed for time, bring your lunch! The Rotary meets at 237 Central St., every Wednesday at noon. You don’t have to belong to Rotary to attend their informative meetings.

■The Franklin City Council meets on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m., at City Hall. Visit for previous minutes and the agenda. 

■The Zoning Board meets on Dec. 7 in City Hall. Visit for previous minutes and the agenda.

■Franklin Footlight Theatre presents Christmas One-Acts from Dec. 8 to 11 at the Franklin Opera House. Visit for more information and to purchase tickets.

■The next school board Innovation and Improvement Committee meeting will be on Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the SAU offices. The Zoom link will be provided on the agenda posted on the SAU website prior to the meeting.
