Cookoff 

■On March 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. is the Chili/Chowder/Mac and Cheese Cookoff at Compass Academy. Try every dish and vote on your favorites. This event is to raise funds for the new school playground. The cost is $5 per person.

■The Annual Franklin Mayor’s Drug Task Force dinner at Mojalaki’s Country Club is ready for RSVPs for their March 24 event. Semi-formal, and includes a choice of three entrees, cash bar, dinner, auction and raffles, community awards, music and dancing, and a photo booth. The cost is $45 per person. ■Rabies clinic and dog licensing on Mach 25, 2 to 4 p.m. at Bessie Rowell Community Center. Plan ahead. Visit franklinnh.org/city-clerk-tax-collector/pages/dog-licenses for fees. Contact City Clerk’s Office for more information at 603-934-3109.

■The School Board meets on March 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

■The Planning Board meets at city hall on March 22 at 6 p.m. to consider a site plan revision for the Cumberland Farm Property’s new site. The second item for Planning Board (above) is to consider an amendment to the general ordinance regarding the establishment of groundwater protection regulations and boundaries.

■Community Champion Week is from March 19 to 25. Local state and federal officials, local celebrities and other prominent community figures will deliver Meals-on-Wheels. On March 23 at 11 a.m. come to the TRIP Center to meet some of our local community champions and enjoy a nice lunch served at 11:30 a.m.

■Bread and Roses Soup Kitchen hosts dinners every week on Monday and Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Unitarian Church, 206 Central St. Call 603-934-2141.

■One Mission – Baptist Church of Franklin offers free personal care items on the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. Located at 21 Church, use the School Street entrance and please bring a picture ID. Call 603-934-0230 with any questions.
