Portions of Clinton Street were closed Tuesday afternoon following a crash between a dump truck and a Toyota sedan.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Clinton Street and Silk Farm Road around 4:15 p.m. and later closed down portions of the roadway to clear the scene and investigate.

A dump truck owned by BUR Construction out of Newport was taking a left onto Silk Farm Road when it collided with the Toyota that was on Clinton Street heading down the hill. The truck was likely overloaded and found at fault, police said.

The operator of the Toyota was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police did not name either driver.
