Wednesday marked the first day of NHIAA competitions for the 2023-24 school year with the opening of the golf season, and Concord High School had as good a start as you could ask for.

The Crimson Tide had solid performances throughout the lineup to sweep Wednesday’s match at Bretwood Golf Course with a combined score of 210, besting host Keene (215) and Merrimack (256).

Keene’s Nolan Cahill was the medallist with a 39, followed by teammate Ben Greenwald with 40, but Concord made up for it with excellent depth.

Junior Carl Sirrianna (41), seniors Gavin Richardson (42) and Jordan Dustin (42), junior Keller Ramshaw (42) and freshman Zach Nelson (43) were the scoring golfers for the Tide. Seniors Alex Pelletier (44), Brett McDonough (44) and Jack Shoemaker (46) also turned in solid rounds.

Concord next faces Bedford, Spaulding and Londonderry at Passaconaway Country Club in Litchfield on Monday.

Kearsarge 60, Lebanon 58, John Stark 49, Laconia 0

The Cougars opened the season by sweeping a four-team match hosted by Lebanon at Carter Country Club. The win gives Kearsarge a 3-0 record to open the season and temporarily puts the Cougars on top of the Division III standings.
