Allenstown

The Allenstown Supervisor of the Checklist will take voter registrations on Oct. 22 from 7 to 7:30 p.m. at the Allenstown Town Hall, 16 School Street, Allenstown. Voters can also change their party affiliation at that time.

The Allenstown Board of Selectmen will meet on Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Allenstown Town Hall, 16 School Street.

The Pembroke Women’s Club held their annual mum sale and want to send a thank you to the community for their support. They donated $100 to Boxes of Love for the Homeless and $200 to CAP in Suncook.

St. John the Baptist Parish Nurse will hold health counseling and blood pressure screenings on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Parish Hall.

The Community Table will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8, starting at 5 p.m. at the Parish Hall, 10 School Street.

The Penny Sale and Harvest Bazaar will be held at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall, 10 School Street, starting on Oct. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m., Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be children’s activities, raffles, jewelry, a bake sale, books, and more. Friday night will feature sausage and steak subs. On Saturday night, the Knights of Columbus will host their famous spaghetti supper, and on Sunday, Pat and Steve will be cooking.

Boscawen

A Day of Fun for All Ages is happening on Saturday, sponsored by the Boscawen Economic Development Committee. Join them for their Second Annual Pumpkin Walk & Ride from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jamie Welch Park. Activities include a scenic 12-mile loop along the Rail Trail, a bike repair workshop, and a free kids’ craft workshop starting at 11 a.m. Local food and drink vendors will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stay until 2 p.m. to cheer on your favorite team at the Third Annual Police vs. Fire Softball Game.

On Monday, “Beginner’s Guide to Cemetery Sleuthing” will be presented at the Boscawen Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Erin Moulton will explain the meaning behind cemetery iconography, abbreviations, epitaphs, and more. No signup is required.

“The Last Thing He Told Me” by Laura Dave is the topic of the Book Discussion Group at the Boscawen Public Library on Tuesday at 2 p.m. More books are available if you are unable to attend.

The Young at Heart Club will meet on Oct. 9 at the Bow Old Town Hall, 91 Bow Center Road. Rebecca Rule, New Hampshire’s own writer, humorist, storyteller, and host of the “Hometown Series” on New Hampshire Public Radio, will be speaking. The Bow Rotary Club is seeking donations for its upcoming scholarship auction, which supports community scholarships and camperships. The Valley Artisans of Epsom invite you to attend their 43rd Open House on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring jewelry designer Judy Leshinski, who will demonstrate hand-knotting necklaces using natural gemstones and freshwater pearls. Changing Lives Equine Center is collecting men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing and accessories, as well as household textiles such as bedding, towels, tablecloths, and curtains. The Hopkinton Historical Society is presenting its ninth Living History Tour at the Davisville Cemetery on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20, at 1 p.m. Visitors will hear from 22 former residents of Warner, portrayed by local actors in period costumes, who will share stories about their lives and times. The event will be held rain or shine. Tickets are $10 for members of the Hopkinton and Warner historical societies and $15 for nonmembers. Penacook

The United Church of Penacook Food Pantry, serving Penacook residents only, is open every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. year-round. Visitors are allowed two bags of groceries and one bag of personal care items every two weeks unless extra food is available or in an emergency situation.

Pittsfield

The Salisbury Historical Society will host Pamela Weeks speaking on “New England Quilts and the Stories They Tell” at Salisbury Town Hall, 645 Old Turnpike Road, on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. The public is invited at no charge. Guests are encouraged to bring one quilt for identification or to share its story.

The Hearse House Museum will be open from 5 to 6 p.m. on the same day for visitors to see Salisbury’s historic quilts and other treasures.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m., the Salisbury Free Library will host a presentation by the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center, featuring three live owls that reside in New Hampshire forests, fields, or wetlands. This program was made possible by the Salisbury Haunted Barn & Trail Charity.

Warner

On Saturday, Oct. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m., enjoy singer-songwriters Click Horning and Matthew Alexander in concert at The Gallery at MainStreet Bookends. Free to the public with a $10 suggested donation.

MainStreet Warner will kick off its Lodge Project campaign on Friday, Oct. 11, at 5 p.m. at The Lodge, 17 Church Street. Learn about plans to create a community kitchen, meeting room, and performance venue.

Warner’s 77th Annual Fall Foliage Festival will be held Oct. 11-13. Music, craft fair, midway, book and bake sales, and oxen and woodsmen’s competitions are just a few activities planned.

Webster

The Town of Webster is sponsoring a candidate forum on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Grange Hall, 945 Battle Street. Invitations have been sent to candidates for various offices, including State Senate District 7 and State Representative District 26. Refreshments will be served.

The Town Clerk’s office will be open on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. The office will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
