I was not surprised at Sec. of State Dave Scanlan’s and the Attorney General’s rejection of the Trump detractors’ unfounded claim that Trump should be removed from the primary ballot because of alleged Amendment 14 concerns. What did surprise me was his prediction that there will be an extensive write-in campaign in the January presidential primary. With overwhelming numbers of Democrat and independent voters opposing Biden’s re-election based on his age; actually, the real reason is not age but declining mental acuity, does Scanlan actually believe primary voters will brave January weather to write in Joe Biden?
Actually, there are few moderate Democrats of presidential caliber who have demonstrated any interest in running for the office. The Democrat nominee may well be chosen behind closed doors when Biden’s handlers and enablers come to the conclusion that most everyone else has concluded that Biden lacks the mental capacity to be president today and four more years is out of the question.
