Fisher Cats result
On the same day he was named the Eastern League Player of the Week, Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. hit two home runs, including his first at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, leading the Fisher Cats to a 10-2 win over the Portland Sea Dogs. In five games from April 30 to May 5, Guerrero hit .500 (9-for-18) with two doubles, a triple, a home run, five RBI and seven runs scored. Guerrero extended his hitting streak to 12 games, the longest in the Eastern League so far this year. Guerrero belted his first homer in the opening frame to give New Hampshire a 3-0 lead and hit his second home run in the seventh. The Fisher Cats tacked on three runs in the bottom of the fourth and Cavan Biggioโs solo shot in the fifth made it 7-2. Sean Reid-Foley (5-0) struck out eight over five innings to earn the win. Nick Tepesch tossed three innings of scoreless relief for his first save.
The Merrimack Valley JV softball team nipped Hopkinton, 7-6. Jordyn Barrett had three hits and scored twice for the Hawks. Lauren Martel (on base three times) and Katie Collins (double, two RBI) also had good days at the plate. Julia Baer made a terrific running catch.
The Concord High JV softball team (10-0) defeated Bedford, 15-3. Alice Rosenberg (three hits, double, triple, RBI) pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts. Sydney Plante (grand slam, four RBI, two runs), Lillian Rienstra (four hits, two doubles, four runs, two RBI), Alyssa Fallon (two doubles, two runs, three RBI) and Ella Diers (two hits, double, two runs, two RBI) had major impacts on the game.
The Merrimack Valley Middle School softball team tied Hood, 10-10. The Pride rallied for six runs in the fourth inning to pull ahead, 9-7. Hood answered with three runs in the top of the fifth, and MV tied the game with one run in the bottom half. Mia Wagner and Livi Lacasse each had two hits and scored two runs apiece for the Pride. Nora Navoy and Lindsey Carter each scored two runs. Abby Allen hit a triple and was intentionally walked in her next two plate appearances. Tristen Therrien had a hit and an RBI, while Samantha Allen, Emily Theberge and Justyne Hoyt all had hits.
The Hopkinton Middle School softball team (4-1) beat Epping, 17-5. The Hawks got three runs from Lucy Bamford and three RBI from Olivia Bradfield while Ella Martel played well in the field.
The Hopkinton Middle School baseball team defeated Epping, 11-1, in six innings. Brendan Elrick pitched two scoreless innings to go along with a double and a single at the plate. Quinn Whitehead had a strong first outing on the mound, pitching two innings to go along with a double at the plate.
The Weare Middle School softball team beat Sanborn, 18-0. Gracie Bolduc pitched five complete innings, giving up only one hit and allowing no runs. Sophia Lemay was 3-for-4 at the plate and Emaly Roy had two hits and threw out an attempt to steal second from behind the plate.
In Concord Northeast AAA action, Sherwin Williams defeated the Bow Claws. For Bow, Jake Gancarz pitched well and Lochlan Brady had a hit. For Sherwin Williams, Jaxon Carter had three hits and Alex Turant and Charlie Bolnick each had two hits. Patrick Owen had seven strikeouts in three innings on the mound.
Constantly Pizza beat Tuckers in a well played AA Cal Ripken League game. Dylan Hassapes pitched well for Tuckers while Ethan Hill had a base hit and an RBI. For Constantly Pizza, Evan Anderson pitched a very good third inning, nailing down the win, while Thomas Parizo and William Fogg led Constantly Pizza at the plate.
The Bow Police River Dogs defeated Hopkinton Olkonen Landscapes. Bow was led by strong pitching by Chase Crowell and Blake Crowell. Jake Reardon had three hits and Gavin Parzick made great plays in the field.
The Bow Auto Parts Bulls and Brineโs Team Sales of Concord battled to an 11-11 tie. For Bow, Jon Sisk hit a home run and Jared Caldwell pitched well. For Brineโs, Connor Faherty had a strong outing on the mound and Tommy Weaver had an RBI.
Hopkinton Convenient MD defeated Concord Northeastโs Dickโs Sporting Goods in Capital Area majors action. Madelyn Copple was a wall behind the plate for Hopkinton. Maria Proulx hit a double and Liz Holmes made a great play in the field. For Dickโs, Jessica Caswell had two hits and Alexis Johns played strong defense.
Vermette Ortho beat Absolute Welding, 12-2, in AAA Capital Area action. Vermette was led by a strong pitching performance from Ella Goulas with nine strikeouts over three innings and a hit to help her cause. Maya Chapman and Marley Witham each had two hits and two RBI in the win for Vermette. Skylar Clay pitched well for Absolute.
Concord Northeast Outdoor Sports defeated Merrimack Valley Penacook Pharmacy, 20-10. For Concord, Katie Blinn played a strong all-around game. Kimberly Ortiz, Julihana Tonge and Molly Ford hit well. For Merrimack Valley, Kayla Smith pitched well in relief and Rebecca Steenbeke hit well.
Beckett Glass narrowly defeated Sulloway and Hollis, 8-7. For Beckett, Wren Amrol and Mekhia Burton had some big hits and Brooke Wyatt came in to close the game in the circle. For Sulloway, Ava Mailhiot and Rachel Hilts contributed with some nice hits.
The Concord girls U12 Orange defeated Souhegan, 11-6. Fleur Caryl-Klika led the offense while Chloe Gudas and Lila Doherty also made keys splays on attack. Brianna Blake led the defense, creating several turnovers.
The Tilton School varsity girlsโ lacrosse team fell to New Hampton, 16-4.

Lady Wildcat Golf Outing with the University of New Hampshire womenโs basketball team will hold its seventh annual event at Breakfast Hill Golf Club in Greenland on May 18 . Head coach Maureen Magarity invites all fans and supporters of the team to come meet the coaching staff, current players and former Wildcat players for a fun day of golf, lunch and camaraderie. Registration fees include 18 holes of golf, a cart, greens fees, a tee gift and dinner following play. Price for participation is $125 in general and $110 for UNH alumni and employees. Winnipesaukee Muskrats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League are looking for local families to host players for the upcoming summer season. Players typically range from 19-22 years of age and will arrive the first week of June and leave the first week of August. Host families are asked to provide a spare room with a bed, access to shower and laundry facilities, and occasional meals for their player โ typically breakfast. Transportation is not required. Host families are offered free season tickets for their entire household, three free weeks of baseball camp for their children, free admission to all other NECBL venues, and access to special events before and during the season. Concord Flyers Girls Track & Field program will be opening its 27th season on June 4. The program runs from June through early August and is for girls age 7-15. Practices will be held at Memorial Field in Concord on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30-7 p.m. There will also be practice meets Sunday mornings in June from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Thursday evenings during July, the program participates in open track meets at Merrimack Valley High School at 6 p.m. The fee for new team members is $90 (uniform included) and $80 for returning team members. Peak FC , a new non-profit soccer and futsal club launching in June and based out of Pembroke and Concord, will play soccer and train at the NEAC complex in Pembroke and play futsal at the new Concord Community Center. The new club will offer a full-year option (Aug.-June) and also offer seasonal options for kids who are multi-sport athletes. Cap City Basketball Spring Skills & Drills clinics will be held every Tuesday through May 29. Clinics for boys and girls age 4 through fifth-grade beginners are from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and advanced fifth-grade through ninth-grade players will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. All clinics will be held at the Concord Boys & Girls Club at 55 Bradley Street. Concord Parks and Recreation field hockey introduction program is being offered for players ages 2-5. The Elementary School Skills program introduces players to the basic fundamentals needed to be successful in the game of field hockey. Classes progress from technical skill work to small game play.
