Poetry, prose, or non-fiction – any kind of illustrated story can be entered in the NHPBS Kids Writers Contest! This popular contest for children, sponsored by New Hampshire PBS, invites children in grades K to 5 to explore the power of creativity by writing and illustrating original stories. Contest guidelines and writing resources are available at nhptv.org/kidswrite; the deadline to submit stories is March 31. A panel of local judges will select first, second and third place winners in April. All the stories submitted will be posted on the NHPBS Kids Writers Contest website. Rules, entry forms, and tips for writing a winning story can all be found at nhpbs.org/kidswrite. If you have any questions, call 868-4455 or email sadams@nhpbs.org.
We are looking for your input about the town of Hopkinton! The Hopkinton Planning Board is currently working to update the Town’s Master Plan. The Master Plan is a document that serves to guide the overall character, physical form, and development of a community. It provides guidance to local officials making decisions on budgets, ordinances, capital improvements, zoning and subdivision matters, and other development-related issues. As part of the Master Planning process, we are asking residents to provide input through the following survey. Responses are completely anonymous and are vital in understanding the Town’s current needs and desired future. To take the survey, visit surveymonkey.com/r/hopkintonmp. Please direct any questions to Karen Robertson, Planning Director at 746-3170 or planzone@hopkinton-nh.gov.
