5 Signs Part 2 is an in-depth educational presentation about the five signs that someone is struggling and how to help. The presentation will take place today from 5:30 to 7 p.m. It will be at Laconia’s High School’s Technical Center on Union Ave. Certificates and light refreshments will be available. BradfordThinking about chickens?

On Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., the Cheshire/Sullivan/Hillsborough chapter of Small and Beginner Farmers of New Hampshire will presen a workshop in Bradford: So You’re Thinking About Chickens (ducks/geese/turkeys/guineas). Participants will see two-week-old layer chicks and learn about different brooder set-ups, where you should/could buy your chicks, what you should feed them, how long you will feed your chickens before you see an egg, how to raise meat birds. Topics also include heat lamps, fencing, predators, vaccination pros and cons, and much more. Henry Thetford, from Dunrovin’, Kate Kerman from Phoenix Farm and Denise Renk from Elior Acres will share their combined, more than 35 years of raising poultry. This event is free.
