The family of an 11-year-old New Hampshire football player who died in his sleep is planning to build a stadium in his memory.

Zachary Tompkins of Hudson died in March 2010 from cardiac arrest. He had an undetected genetic heart disease.

Zach played for the Hudson-Litchfield Bears. Two weeks before he died, Zach created a ceramic plate that read 'Zach's Stadium - Home of the Hudson-Litchfield Bears.' His family started a memorial fund and town voters approved the project in 2011.

The Telegraph reported a groundbreaking ceremony has been scheduled for Oct. 26 at the site of the future stadium and field on Industrial Drive. It's not clear when it will be completed.

On the memorial fund's website, Zach's family wrote about the ups and downs of the project over the past 30 months.
