New lobbying firm spans both sides of the aisle

The chiefs of staff for two former governors, one a Republican, the other a Democrat, have partnered to begin a new lobbying effort at the McLane law firm.

Joel Maiola was chief of staff for Republican Judd Gregg during his time as governor and in Congress. Rich Sigel held the same job for retiring Gov. John Lynch and former governor Jeanne Shaheen, both Democrats. They will be offering government relations, crisis management, communications and strategic planning for McLane GPS, the firm’s newly formed government and public strategies group.

The two intend to represent clients at the state and federal level, according to a release announcing their new venture. They will practice out of McLane’s Concord and Manchester offices.

“McLane is thrilled to be teaming up with Joel and Rich to provide clients with a bipartisan approach to problem solving,” said former state senator Joe Foster, who is the chairman of McLane’s management committee.
