Update, 9:58 a.m.: According to the New Hampshire attorney general's office, a man is dead after a shooting involving the Weare police.
"The incident took place at approximately 10:10 p.m. outside in the area of Lanctot's Plaza located on Rte. 114 (425 S. Stark Highway) in Weare," a press release said. "The incident stemmed from an investigation into heroin dealing. Several Weare police officers were present during the incident, as well as two confidential informants and an adult male who was the target of the investigation and suspected of dealing heroin. "During the incident, two Weare police officers fired their weapons and wounded the target of the investigation. That man drove off in his car and traveled a short distance followed by two police cruisers. All three vehicles ended up off Rte. 114. At that point, it was discovered that the adult male suspect had been wounded by gunfire and medical attention was sought. That adult male later died at a hospital in Manchester.
"An autopsy is expected to take place on Friday to determine the deceased's exact cause and manner of death. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin."The investigation is ongoing."
