Why is this senior volunteer being fingerprinted by the police? Because she is volunteering for the new Cops & Caregivers Program; a new initiative for homebound Tilton residents to receive a daily phone call to check their well-being and remain independent in their home. It also gives family and friends the security of knowing their loved one is safe and receiving daily contact.

The Friends Program’s Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Tilton Police Department are working together on matching volunteers and local residents interested in participating in Cops & Caregivers. RSVP volunteer Pat Tuck has been “processed” by Officer Noella Glenn and is ready to make some calls. Friends RSVP and Tilton PD are collaborating to enroll folks on both ends of the phone who are interested in receiving phone calls as well as volunteers to assist with making calls.

Learning more about this new program is as easy as one, two, three: (1) Join us Oct. 1 at the Tilton Senior Center at 10:30 a.m. for Coffee With A Cop; (2) Visit the Tilton Police Department website’s “Cops and Caregivers Friends Program” page; (3) Contact Friends RSVP Coordinator Jennifer Curtis at or 225-7608.
